BHB wood oil nature is based on natural oils and waxes – the product was successfully tested according to DIN EN 71-3 "Safety of toys" and complies with the limits of the VOC Directive 2010.

A healthy tree has its own effective mechanisms to protect its wood. Timber used for building needs our protection. It can be differentiated between a chemical and a constructional wood protection. Constructional wood protection and chemical wood protection are not mutually exclusive but can complement each other in a sensible way.
A well-engineered wood construction is the best protection against the enemy no. 1 water. Wet conditions are the main cause for numerous damages to wood. The build of a wooden building accordingly to the state of the art is considered as constructional wood protection. In this way, you already obtain an effective protection against wet conditions by a sufficient roof overhang, the installation of a gutter and gravel around the house. It is necessary to avoid standing water on wood or lasting moisture.
Any wood which cannot be sufficiently protected in a construction way against moisture and climatic conditions needs further protection. Applying oil to wood is one of the oldest methods of wood treatment and facilitates the preservation of wood in a natural way. The good way of penetrating the wood cells, the protection against greying and the lively brilliance of the wood are highly appreciated. The UV protection of the wood may be further increased by a pigmentation of the oil finish and facilitates simultaneously a decorative design.
The ultraviolet rays of the sunlight also damage the unprotected wood and the cell compound - lignin - is reduced. Wood becomes brown and starts to turn grey. The wood fibres part from their compound structure, the weather-beaten wood surfaces become prone to other enemies of the wood. Therefore, weather-beaten wood cannot simply be coated. Before applying a coat of paint, the grey weather-beaten wood needs to be sanded down to the rough, clear, healthy and sustainable layer.
The best way is to apply BHB wood oil (Nature or coloured one) on-site, after assembling the building.

BHB wood oil means pleasant to eyes colours and natural protection against the weather. You save time, as you can apply the final coat right after assembling the building. Our BHB wood oil nature contains the finest waxes which penetrate the wood fibres and cells and therefore produce the water-repellent feature of the wooden surface.
The impregnation is applied all around the wall log, so even the places which cannot be covered when applying the oil after assembling will be protected. Therefore all parts of a wall log receive basic protection against moisture. This protection is particularly important concerning the corner joints of your house, the tongue and groove, the front area of logs and the area of firmly
grown together knotholes. Prefabricated components of your house such as doors and windows are already protected all sides with BHB wood oil nature.
The interior of your wooden house requires no further treatment after impregnation with BHB wood oil. BHB wood oil makes the surface more resistant to dirt and can be cleaned easily.
After the assembling the exterior of your wooden house needs to be treated by another coat of paint or BHB wood oil. Factory finishing in BHB wood oil provides the basic protection and prepares the building for applying another coat of paint.
